Casinos in Singapore and Indonesia

Seizing the occasion of Chinese New Year as a reason for celebration, the opening of Singapore’s first casino was extremely successful. Thousands of gamblers from Singapore and Indonesia came to know the new casino and enjoy your new games.

The name of the new complex is Resorts World Sentosa, and is the first of two planned casinos open during 2010 as part of a monumental statewide campaign which aims to attract tourists from around the world. The second casino will be the Marina Bay Sands, whose opening is scheduled for April this year.

“The new Singapore casinos millionaire opened a huge market in Southeast Asia,” said Jonathan Galaviz, an analyst with the gambling industry in Las Vegas.

Many gamblers born in Indonesia, however, will have to make an examination of conscience to do certain kinds of bets (such as red or black in roulette), since they have certain rules that as Muslims is prohibited to do gambling.

The Singapore government officials are hoping that with the opening of new casinos to reach the goal of attracting 17 million visitors annually by 2015 (with expected earnings of $ 21 billion).

Thomas Arasi, chief executive of the Marina Bay Sands, said that Indonesia ranks as one of the objectives of the next online casino to open its doors. Estimates by the Singapore Tourism Board, during the year, people in Indonesia who travel to Singapore are nearly 1.7 million (or 17% of all tourists).
